About Dr. Patricia Jacobs
Patricia A. Jacobs, PhD is based in Gainesville, Florida and provides college consulting services to students and families throughout north central Florida. She welcomes international students and families.
Inspired by a Passion for Helping Students to Succeed
Dr. Jacobs became inspired to assist students and their families in the college search and application process as a result of her 25 plus years working with students, and her personal experience guiding her own children through the process. While they were accepted at highly competitive schools, many of their friends with good grades, top test scores, and interesting activities were not. She realized that families needed professional guidance and a strategy for getting accepted at and finding the right college match. What inspired her the most is her love of working with young people and guiding them on the path to success!
Dr. Jacobs’s classroom experience teaching English language arts at the middle, high school and secondary levels, both nationally and internationally, her work as a director of a Chinese teacher education program, providing professional development for K-7 teachers, and consulting work in literacy education provide the knowledge base needed to guide families through the search process. Dr. Jacobs has a special ability to find the right college match for each student. She welcomes international families who may find it especially difficult to navigate the complex maze of the college planning and admission process.
